Within a few minutes walk from the lodge there are a great variety of local shops - minimarkets where you can buy essentials, pharmacies, internet cafes and fruit & vegetable shops. Slightly further away are all types of shops - household goods, bakeries, clothes, shoes etc. On Tuesday and Saturday there is a huge local market at Qurna, which is well worth a visit.
The main shopping areas nearby are in the villages of Qurna - about 10 minutes walk from the Lodge, and at Gezira, which is 10 minute taxi ride away, close to the ferry.
